Fics Where Harry Dies While A Student at Hogwarts
Do not read this list unless you are prepared to find spoilers about fics that have Harry dying in them.
Many of these fics are rated R and NC-17, so if you are not the legal age to read either rating...DON'T!!!
This post was created to try and compile an accurate list of COMPLETED fics where Harry dies. Harry can die from suicide, illness, Voldemort, neglect from his relatives, an accident, etc, but No outlandishly AU fics, drabbles, or fics where Harry's death is only mentioned in passing, then forgotten, please! Also, please only submit fics that you have read, and ones that are written well. Please include a short summary of the fic, the pairing, and rating. If the fic takes place after Harry leaves Hogwarts, please include that information. Knowing Harry dies is enough, so no need to give away how he dies.
I am not into rec'ing fics regularly, so I will not be marking the fics I would rec, but any comments I do make will be italicized.

Beautiful World by Cinnamon (starflowers) - Rated R. HP/DM. AU-ish. Author's summary: "Draco is afraid of living and Harry is afraid of dying, but sometimes the choice isn't offered. Chosen by gehayi - Rated PG-13. Gen. In which Draco has a special job among the Death Eaters, and Voldemort gets something he's always longed to have. One-shot.
Dark Gods in the Blood by Hayseed - Rated R. Het. SS/HG. A wandering student comes home, a broken man pays his penance, and a gruesome murder is both more and less than it seems. Some paths to self-discovery have more twists and turns than others. "Harry Potter was dead," is the first line of the fic. The entire novel is about Hermione trying to find out how. Diamonds In the Dust by Armand Malfoy - Rated NC-17. SS/HP. Severus likes Harry. Sirius likes Harry. Harry is confused. Slash ensues. Very Long - novella/novel probably
Even Lovers Drown by Hijja (kennahijja) - Rated R. LM/HP. Summary: Months ago, Harry Potter seduced Lucius Malfoy in order to gain access to his secrets for Dumbledore. Now, as he lies dying after the final battle against Voldemort, he has to confront the Malfoys one last time. One-shot. It's either later Hogwarts years or post-H; it's left unclear in the fic.
Even Memories Fade by annephoenix - Rated R. HP/DM. Author's summary: When all hope is lost, only memories remain. But maybe sometimes one shouldn’t be willing to relinquish one’s hope so easily…WIP (3 chapters) that will probably not be finished. Prologue can stand alone as Harry dies in that chapter

SUMMER SNARRY FREE FOR ALL MINI-FEST at the pornicators LJ: #16: 'Kiss before dying' scenario. War has taken a few years longer than expected (so Harry's over 18), He's just killed Voldemort, but is mortally wounded (or alternately, must die soon himself, because he is a Horcrux & Voldy's soul could take over at any moment). Prefer things to be initiated by Harry, and that neither of them meant things to go that far. IC Snape is great, but don't make him too stoic. Ending may be predictable tragic or shock/surprise happy. If going for a Harrycrux, bonus if Voldy nearly takes over at one or two points: Harry confesses some things before it is too late. Giving Notice by Quoth the Raven - Rated R. Gen. Written before OotP and dealing with different characters reactions to Harry committing suicide...Argus Filch, Prof. Sprout and Peeves, and how they view what is going on, rather than from those that were close to Harry. Somehow this makes it all that more poignant. Takes place before OotP was published. Lengthy story
If You Are Prepared by Cybele (cybele_san) - Rated NC-17. SS/HP. This fic is mesmerising, and will completely take you on a ride through so many emotions. I absolutely fell in love with Cybele's Snape - he infuriated me at times, and at others, had me in tears. This is the fic I reccomend when anyone asks for a great HP Rec, whether they request a death fic or not. It is quite lengthy, but well worth the hours and days spent reading it. I began reading it a second time but had to stop...it was just too difficult to return to that depth of sorrow. Novel Length

Last Supper by annephoenix - Rated NC-17. LM/RW. Warnings: Non-con. Ron betrays Harry for a life of luxury, and finds out too late what the price of his betrayal is. One shot
New Love of the Light Child by AngelMoon Girl - Rated PG. Gen HP, AD. The war is over, but the Light's victorious Boy Who Lived lays dying in the Order founder's arms. Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore exchange their last, bittersweet words. One shot
Maleficium (You will need to join my Yahoo Group to read the fic.) by sev1970 - Rated NC-17. SS/HP. I have explicit warnings at the beginning because this fic contains extremely graphic details...specifically, non-con, and is very difficult to read. This fic begins at the beginning of Harry's sixth year. Snape decides to teach Harry a lesson about minding his own business, but he does not realize what he has done until it is too late. Non Con included (non consensual sex, if you do not know). Out of everything I have written, I am most proud of this fic - I have never had to delve that deep within myself to get the emotions and actions that happened to come out as I wanted them to. It is 22 chapters long, and about 94,000 words.
Never Had A Chance by firestar038 - Rated PG. Gen. The story of Harry's death after the battle where he killed Voldemort. Tragic but sweet. This is a 'Severus is Harry's father' fic. Short One-shot
Nourishment of the Earth by darkasphodel/lilysunshine - Rated R - Gen. Sirius-centric. Very dark. Sirius does as he is told...no matter what the consequences may be. Rather short
Only Room For Three by LostGirl - Rated PG-13; perhaps a soft R. Gen. Dark fic. Sev Rickman's ten points challenge. What does it take for Snape to give points To Gryffindor? Short
Prisonnier de Guerre by switchknife - Rated NC-17. I think this is Gen. Warnings: Heavy non-con, rape, starvation, slavery, bloodplay, BDSM, and various other nasties. Harry is tortured and tortured again...very gruesome and violent. You've been warned. One-shot
Reads by Nope (nopejr) - Rated NC-17 - HP/DM. It's non-linear, so one should pay attention to nuances. Long One-shot

Small Price To Pay by annephoenix - Rated NC-17. LM/HP. On the night before his execution, Harry decides it's time to stop hiding his pain. Lucius is happy to take advantage. Short one-shot
Something To Live For (You can find it at Turn of the Page, but you must get a password to access it - DO NOT ASK FOR IT here...get it yourself, please.) by Accio Snape - Rated NC-17. SS/HP. Warnings: Suicidal themes, and mega mega angst!!! This is probably my favorite fic of all time...and the fic that found me bawling uncontrollably like a baby for quite a while. There are two versions of the fic...one has a happy ending, and the other...definitely not happy. When you get to the ending, click on alternate ending and it will take you to the sad ending. I suggest you also read the happy one as well because it is wonderful! Long
Somewhat Lighter Sympathy by Hijja (kennahijja) - Rated PG. Gen. Lord Voldemort, taking advice from the Evil Overlord Guidebook, sends his right-hand man to hire a Muggle professional, who is supposed to take care of the Boy-Who-Lived problem once and for all. Whoa, this is an eerie fic! One-shot
That Way Lies Camelot by scoradh and cynicalpirate - Rated NC-17. HP/DM. The road to victory is forced to take a few detours, as Harry stumbles across all manner of unexpected things. Not least of these is one Draco Malfoy, on the run from the Death Eaters but not walking the walk of the side of light either. However, the most unexpected thing of all is Harry himself ... that, and the teapots. Link is down so I don't know how long it is.
The Cage by Sara - Rated PG-13. HP/DM Harry, Draco, and Stockholm Syndrome. One-shot
The Corrupted Can Cry by annephoenix - Rated NC-17. NL/HP, NL/DM, NL/HP/DM. Warnings: Non-con. Answers the challenge: Character A meets Character B in the corridors of Hogwarts, and notices a fleck of blood on the collar of his/her robes. Looking more closely, A notices that around B's neck is looped a thorned stem of rose, in the same place as there is Devils snare around A's neck. They don't speak, but they understand that Neville is keeping the both of them on tight leashes, and they recognise something about the others character from the choice of plants - A will fight and fight until it kills him/her and the devils snare is the only thing that with automatically choke A off without any particular harm. B is malleable to pain - he/she doesn't think escape is worth it, at least yet. Short

The Five Deaths of Harry Potter by jezzabe - Rated R. Gen mostly...perhaps a bit of SS/HP. Our memories lie all the time. Add to that the chaos that erupts in war, and you have an extremely comfused version of events. Short one-shot. Not sure if it is before or after Hogwarts
The Hope Series by jamie2109 - Rated PG - R in diff. chapters so I would use R for overall. HP/DM. Story told from both Harry and Draco's POV. They both want something from each other. Harry wants Draco and Draco wants Harry to save him when he saves everyone. This is the story of how they both keep each other's hope alive and how Draco comes to see that he could save himself. Major angst and an 'in denial Draco' who realises too late what he wanted from Harry. Multiple chapters
The Last Horcrux by Alchemia Dent (alchemia) - Rated M. SS/HP - minimal. Voldemort has fallen, but Harry is still having nightmares. Dumbledore has found an ancient potion and ritual that can cure him. One-shot - short
The Last Dance by wikdsushi - Rated NC-17. SS/HP. What is a life worth? This fic deals with Harry's sacrifices to allow his lover and others to live. Simply a wonderfully written fic that will break your heart. Long
The Law of Sexuality by rakina - Rated NC-17. SS/HP. At their sex education lesson at the end of 3rd Year, Harry and his friends learn about the Law of Sexuality, which is a far more serious subject than the Muggle-raised could have imagined. It’s going to affect the rest of their lives, and for Harry it’s even more serious. There is only kissing and cuddling going on between them before Harry is sixteen. Novel length
The Platform by Alchemia Dent (alchemia) - Rated M. SS/HP. This is for those unable to watch the film, or in addition to the film. This is rated lower than the film as the most violent images are not included. It's a cross-over between HP and Chris Marker's short film La Jette (The inspiration for the movie 12 Monkeys). The film is done in La Jette's "style" though. Harry travels both forward and backwards in time in an attempt to win the war against Voldemort, along the way, he gets to see his parents and the future of Hogwarts. Currently, only the 'mini' version and script is online. Fairly short
